Amanda believed in God from a young age but did not have a personal relationship with Him. After navigating being a young mother she thought she only wanted one child. But God had a different plan and her daughter was born. Tragedy struck when her first child, a son named Christian, was diagnosed with cancer. He died when he was 18, but had a big heart and is a blessing to others both during his earthly life and after his death. He was not afraid of death and was at peace, however Amanda was angry at God and couldn't understand why He would do this. The next several years were filled with so much death and tragedy that it sent Amanda into rebellion and feeling distant from God. This culminated in a moment of desperate crying out to God. After this she found her true love for Jesus in the book of John. The way she talks about her love for Jesus is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
