Why does God allow suffering — and does He actually understand what we're going through? In part one of this two-part study, Dave Scherrer turns to the book of Job, widely regarded as one of the oldest books in the Bible, to explore the hidden heavenly backdrop to Job's suffering and his eventual silence before God's sovereignty. Dave shows how Job's story points us toward trusting God's Kingdom plan even without answers, then turns to Romans 8:28 for the promise that God works all things for our good. He closes with what he believes is Christianity's unique answer to the problem of evil: a God who entered our suffering Himself, and answered the question "Do you understand?" at the cross of His own Son.
