Is there more?

Welcome to 100 Fold’s Backyard Conversations. I’m imagining that you and I are sitting in the backyard, and we find ourselves talking about Jesus Christ and the gospel of His kingdom. I think our conversations will be fascinating. In fact I’m sure of it! The gospel of the kingdom is the richest, deepest and the most exciting, good-news I know. Who doesn't want to talk about the Kingdom! So, pull up your lounge chair, grab your cold drink and let’s chat!

So, it seems strange to me that so many who believe in the soul-saving power and love of Jesus Christ have such a hard time describing or even defining what, as Jesus put it, the Gospel of the Kingdom is exactly.

At 100-Fold, we believe that in this seldom explored doctrine of profound good news is the transforming power, peace and purpose that has been set aside for each believer in Jesus Christ from the foundation of creation. It is the answer to the questions, “Why exactly was I saved? Saved from what and to what? Have I been plucked from a fire only to sit and simply enjoy my flame-free status?”

“Or is there more . . .?”

The truth is that I have searched all my life for a Savior and come to find out . . . I happily have found a King as well! And the good news is that I now serve him and His Kingdom purposes. It was to this end that I was made – to be a Kingdom Citizen serving the King of Kings!

But not just a mere citizen . . . A Child of the Most High! With all the power and wealth . . . and responsibilities . . . that comes with this new royal status.

At 100 Fold Ministries, we celebrate and advance the gospel of the Kingdom for two reasons:

  • First, Jesus was all about it! And, if he was all about it, we should be all about it! You can read more about the riches of the gospel of the Kingdom and its implications for our present lives in our upcoming blogs and podcasts.
  • The second reason is that so many Christ followers today have lost track of this good news. In conversation after conversation, I am finding that many Christians still feel spiritually dry, are deeply anxious and terribly lonely. They say they lack purpose and feel disqualified or under qualified from making any real spiritual difference. I am convinced that when we truly understand the gospel of the Kingdom and its call upon our lives, we are transformed and renewed in our deepest places.
  • The hope is manifold. The power and peace made available is palpable. The implications are staggering! Come engage the Kingdom and be transformed!

You can expect a new chapter in our Kingdom Offering blogs on the first and third Mondays of the month, so don’t be a stranger! At this website you will also find our podcasts that will come out on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Feel free to comment here at the bottom and as time progresses into 2023, there will be a host of ways to join with us in celebrating and advancing the gospel of the Kingdom!

Goodness This is weirdly a tough subject. The task? Defining Goodness. It doesn’t seem that it should be that hard but . . . Here at Backyard Conversations we have been ruminating on what are called the “philosophical transcendentals,” or the ideas of “Truth, Beauty and Goodness.” And we are asking

Beauty and Masculinity Can the word beauty and masculinity exist in the same sentence? That is a tough sell for many men. For instance, many men, when led in worship to sing “Jesus, you are so beautiful” find that hard to wrap their heads around. We are used to Joe Cocker singing to a beautiful [...
